the devil is in the details

really, he is:

"ROME - Art restorers have discovered the figure of a devil hidden in the clouds of one of the most famous frescos by Giotto in the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi, church officials said on Saturday.

The devil was hidden in the details of clouds at the top of fresco number 20 in the cycle of the scenes in the life and death of St Francis painted by Giotto in the 13th century."-Reuters /

and for shame if you don't know who giotto is. don't they teach anything in college nowadays except marxism and up/down twinkles?

no giotto, no renaissance. the church of st francis assisi contains giotto's most famous and most disputed works. and they were heavily damaged in an earthquake in 1997. art that fucking matters-the visual foundations of western art and culture-not vapid political sloganeering a la hope to obey yanqui hipster.

the st. francis cycle-attributions disputed on many of these but traditionally seen as by giotto:

and nothing makes me happier than saying Chimabue all morning long. my next lady cat friend is definitely a Chimabue because one can scarcely name a goldfish Chimabue.

no attention span? can't see it?
