nobody loves me/ it's true

one of the last great songs of the 'alternative' era- from when bands like the cure were considered to be making dance music. today is singer beth gibbons birthday. when this song came out in europe an actual french person said to me in english:" have you heard pottyshed yet?"

pottyshed?

sourtimes/ portishead

if you're of a certain age and realize the greatness of certain movie and tv composers from the 50s and 60s you know the song is actually a sped up version- almost in the whole- of the fabulous lalo schifrin's danuabe incident from the tv show mission :impossible( for you chillerens that's a tv show not a remade piece of crap movie from recent times with ghey body thetans in it.)

schifrin is from argentina and is still active making music.his score for' the exorcist' was so fucking scary they didn't use it- and you think you're bad. his music is in many of the dirty harry movies, indeed many clint eastwood- who is a jazz lover- films. his style influenced just about anyone scoring for tv and films in the 60s and 70s. he is a genius .his ability to convey raw emotion with a few notes is second to none .
